As in all of the courses, the one day course begins at Chris Bells studio in Richmond, London TW10. Here you will receive a complete explanation of just how and why your camera works, with easy to understand explanations of the theory of photography in general and your own camera in particular. There are printed notes provided and together with the explanation you will soon understand the concepts of the technology along with the accepted guidelines for good composition. We then go out as a group to a nearby location such as Richmond Park to put theory into practice.
Chris is with the students at all times and will be taking pictures alongside by way of explanation and encouragement.
Back at the studio there is time to look at everyone’s images on the computer and you should leave with at least one super A4 colour print of an image which you have made using your camera in full manual mode. By the end of even a one-day course you will start to understand just what it takes to make a photograph rather than a snap shot.
